Tell the BC Government That You Support BC Salmon Farming
This is a campaign by BC Salmon Farmers Association

BC salmon farmers are the largest employer on northern Vancouver Island and a significant economic contributor to the Province of BC. The sector provides thousands of well-paid, highly-skilled careers in rural and coastal communities. Additionally, BC salmon farmers provide over 200 million healthy and sustainable meals annually, helping to put affordable, high-quality, nutritious food on Canadian tables.

Send a letter to BC Premier Eby and let him know that you support ocean-based salmon farming in British Columbia.

Subject:
I support ocean-based salmon farms in BC
Dear Premier Eby –

I support ocean-based salmon farms in BC, and look forward to seeing the creation of a thriving blue economy here in BC which supports:

- Thousands of direct and indirect jobs
- Hundreds of suppliers, contractors, and businesses in BC and across Canada
First Nations inclusion, oversight, and leadership in operations
- True reconciliation as salmon farming is the only industry in BC which operates under agreements with local First Nations
- Hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual support for wild salmon enhancement and restoration
- Billions in annual economic activity
- Healthy rural, coastal communities
- Locally produced, carbon-friendly, and healthy protein

The potential for salmon farming to increase its contribution to rural coastal communities and mainland BC is great. However, the sector requires business certainty and support from the government to achieve this.

I hope you also support this valuable sector, and I look forward to your leadership moving forward.
