To the Major Projects Office,

I'm writing to ask you to list the West Coast Oil Pipeline as a project of national interest under the Building Canada Act.

I'm one of the people this decision is actually about, and I wanted my name on the record in favour of building it.
It's work. Alberta's submission to your office estimates up to 140,000 jobs at peak construction, roughly 70,000 of them in British Columbia, and around 50,000 a year once the line is running. Those are the jobs that let people stay in the towns they're from.

It's a better price for something we already own. Canada sells almost all its oil to one customer at a discount, because that's the only market we can reach. More buyers means more money coming back here, and that money pays for hospitals, roads and schools.
We used to build things. Somewhere along the way a decade of process became normal in this country. It shouldn't be. I'd like to be able to say we can still get something done.
